A British furniture store is housed in this huge six-story building on Tottenham Court Road. Established in the early 19th century, Heal’s runs a successful business until this day. But even if you are not willing to purchase any modern furniture or other accessories, you still might want to visit this place once in London.
The building features a stunning spiral staircase known as the Brewer Staircase. The hypnotic whirl spins up to the fourth floor and takes customers to the Mansard Gallery. It is a popular attraction among architecture aficionados. Architecture Cecil Brewer designed the stairs in 1916. In 2013 the design landmark was restored to its former glory, thanks to a refurbishment project that included a bespoke Bocci chandelier.
