PandoTrip is an independent travel publication shaped by contributors from different countries and professional backgrounds. This policy explains how we prepare, review and update our articles, how we use AI-assisted tools, where our photographs come from and what we mean by Partner Content.
How our articles are made
An article may begin with a journey made by one of our contributors, an idea suggested by a photographer, knowledge of a particular place or a subject the editorial team believes readers will find useful. The finished article may combine personal experience, local knowledge, external research and editorial work by more than one person.
PandoTrip is not a conventional newsroom. Many of our contributors are travellers, photographers or people working in fields other than professional journalism. Creating and maintaining the website is a collaborative process, and our aim is to make every article accurate, useful and clear while preserving the individual perspective behind it.
Bylines and contributors
Articles may be published under the name of an individual contributor or the PandoTrip editorial team. A byline identifies the person or team responsible for the published article, although other people may also have helped with research, editing, fact-checking, updates or photography.
Some contributors prefer to publish under a pen name. The same editorial process and standards apply to every article, regardless of the name used in the byline.
Not every PandoTrip article is a first-person account of a journey. Some are based mainly on personal travel experience, some on research, and many use a combination of both. When personal experience is relevant to a story, we aim to make that clear in the article.
Research and accuracy
The sources used for an article depend on its subject. They may include official government and tourism websites, national parks, transport operators, museums and attractions, accommodation providers, maps, original documents, reputable publications and knowledge supplied by contributors.
Where practical, we compare information across more than one source and check time-sensitive details when an article is written or updated. Travel information can nevertheless change quickly. Opening hours, prices, transport routes, entry requirements, local rules and availability may change after publication, so readers should confirm important details with the relevant official source before travelling or making a booking.
How we use AI-assisted tools
AI-assisted tools support parts of our editorial workflow. We may use them to:
- develop research questions and help locate relevant sources;
- support fact-checking by comparing information and flagging possible errors, inconsistencies or outdated details;
- edit grammar, clarity, structure and style;
- summarise background material or shorten drafts.
AI output is not treated as a reliable source by itself. A person reviews the material, checks the relevant information and makes the final editorial decisions. Responsibility for what appears on PandoTrip remains with the contributor and editorial team, not with the tool.
Updates and corrections
PandoTrip has been publishing travel content since 2012, and some articles in our archive are many years old. We review and update older pages when we can, particularly when important practical information has changed. If an article can no longer be kept accurate or useful, we may remove it.
We also correct errors brought to our attention. If you believe an article contains inaccurate or outdated information, please contact us and include a link to the page concerned.
Photography and image sources
Photography has been central to PandoTrip since the project began. Some images published on the website were taken or supplied by our authors and contributors. Others come from their friends, travel companions and other people connected with the project who have allowed their photographs to be shared.
We also use licensed stock photographs and images from libraries and creative platforms including Shutterstock, Alamy, Dreamstime, Getty Images, Envato Elements and Freepik, as well as sources such as Unsplash and Pexels. Other image sources may be used where an appropriate licence or permission is available. Images may be cropped, colour-adjusted, retouched or otherwise edited to suit the format in which they are published.

Affiliate links
Separately from Partner Content, some of our regular articles contain affiliate links, including links to accommodation booking services made available through Stay22. If you make a booking through one of these links, PandoTrip may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate arrangements do not affect what we choose to cover or recommend. Revenue from these links helps support the cost of running and maintaining PandoTrip.
Partner Content
Some articles are marked as Partner Content. This means that an outside organisation contributed to or supported the article—for example by providing information, specialist knowledge, access, travel arrangements, photographs or other resources.
Partner Content is not necessarily a paid article. Support may be financial or non-financial, and the nature of the collaboration can vary from one article to another. The label is used to let readers know that a partner was involved in creating the content. PandoTrip remains responsible for the decision to publish the article and for its final presentation on the website.
