Information you provide
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any other information you choose to provide, such as your name or details about a correction, proposal or business enquiry.
Information collected automatically
When you visit PandoTrip, we and our service providers may collect technical and usage information. Depending on your privacy choices and the services used on a particular page, this may include:
- your IP address and approximate location derived from it;
- browser, operating system, language and device information;
- pages viewed, referral pages, links clicked and the date and time of a visit;
- cookie identifiers, consent choices and session information;
- interactions with advertisements and affiliate links;
- diagnostic, security and fraud-prevention information.
We do not use this information to identify you directly unless it is combined with other information by a service provider or you provide identifying information yourself.
How and why we use information
We may use information to:
- operate, secure and maintain the website;
- understand how readers find and use PandoTrip;

- display, measure and manage advertising;
- operate and measure affiliate links;

- Steps taken at your request, where you contact us about a possible service, collaboration or other arrangement.
- Legal obligations, where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on a browser or device. PandoTrip and its service providers may also use comparable technologies, such as local storage, pixels, tags and scripts.
These technologies may be used for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary functions, such as saving privacy choices, maintaining security and enabling basic website operation.
- Analytics, to understand visits, page use and website performance.
- Advertising, to deliver, limit, personalise and measure advertisements and to detect invalid traffic.
- Affiliate attribution, to record that a reader followed an affiliate link and, where applicable, completed a booking.
Where required, we ask for permission before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies. You can review or change your choices through the Privacy and cookie settings link in the website footer. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may affect some website functions.
The available advertising vendors, their purposes and the legal bases they request are shown in the consent management platform when applicable. Your choices may be communicated to participating vendors through the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how PandoTrip is used. GA4 may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser details, referral source, interactions and pseudonymous identifiers.
GA4 commonly uses first-party cookies named “_ga” and cookies beginning with “ga” to distinguish users and maintain session information. Google states that their default expiry can be up to two years, although their actual duration may be shorter because of our settings, your choices or browser restrictions.
Information collected through GA4 is processed by Google in accordance with its policies. You can learn more from Google’s Privacy Policy and its explanation of how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Google AdSense
We currently use Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads based on a visit to PandoTrip or other websites. Depending on your location, settings and consent choices, ads may be personalised, non-personalised or contextual.
Advertising technologies may process information such as IP address, cookie or device identifiers, browser information, pages viewed and interactions with advertisements. Google and participating advertising vendors use this information for purposes that may include ad delivery, frequency control, personalisation, reporting, fraud prevention and performance measurement.
You can manage Google ad personalisation through Google’s Ads Settings. The current list of advertising vendors and more detailed controls are available through the Privacy and cookie settings link in the PandoTrip footer where applicable.
Affiliate links and Stay22
Some PandoTrip articles contain affiliate links, including accommodation links made available through Stay22. Stay22 may convert or route relevant links, record that a link was followed and use identifiers or other technical information to attribute an eligible booking or transaction. If you book through an affiliate link, PandoTrip may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
Bookings are completed on the relevant third-party travel or accommodation website. PandoTrip does not collect or process your payment card details for those bookings. Stay22 and the booking provider process information under their own terms and privacy policies. You can read the Stay22 Privacy Policy.

External links and social media
PandoTrip contains links to external websites, including tourism organisations, booking services and our Facebook page. Following an external link may allow that service to collect information about your visit. We do not control the privacy practices of other websites, and their own privacy policies apply after you leave PandoTrip.
When information is shared
We may disclose information to:
- hosting, security, technical and email service providers that help us operate PandoTrip;
- analytics, advertising, consent-management and affiliate service providers described in this policy;
- professional advisers where reasonably necessary;
- courts, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or other parties when required by law or necessary to protect rights and safety;
- a buyer, successor or adviser in connection with a genuine business reorganisation, merger or transfer, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We ask providers acting on our behalf to process information only for the relevant services and under appropriate contractual terms. Other providers, including certain advertising and affiliate companies, may determine some of their own processing purposes and should be consulted through their respective privacy notices.
International data transfers
Some service providers may process information outside Lithuania or the European Economic Area, including in countries whose data-protection rules differ from those in your country. Where required, such transfers are made using an applicable legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer basis. How long information is kept
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to correspondence, maintaining security, resolving disputes and meeting legal, accounting or reporting obligations.
Retention periods for analytics, advertising, consent and affiliate information also depend on the relevant service, our account settings, your consent choices and the provider’s policies. We periodically review the information under our control and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- request access to personal data held about you;
- ask for inaccurate or incomplete data to be corrected;
- request deletion or restriction of processing;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive certain data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing;
- opt out of certain targeted advertising or disclosures treated as a sale or sharing under applicable US state laws;
- lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority.

You may also change cookie and advertising choices through the Privacy and cookie settings control in the footer. Requests relating to information controlled independently by Google, Stay22 or another provider may need to be directed to that provider.
Our supervisory authority in Lithuania is the State Data Protection Inspectorate. You can find information about its services and complaint procedures on the Inspectorate’s website. You may also contact the competent authority in the country where you live or work.
Automated advertising decisions
Advertising providers may use automated systems to select or personalise advertisements according to inferred interests, context and technical information. PandoTrip does not use personal data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about individual readers.
Children’s privacy
PandoTrip is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically at children. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information directly to us. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us so that we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Data security
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures intended to protect information under our control. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, service providers or legal obligations change. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Material changes may also be highlighted through the website or consent interface where appropriate.
