3. Dolmabahce Palace

The palace served as the main government center for the Ottoman Empire between 1856 and 1922. It is found on the European side of the city and is the largest palace in entire Turkey! Besides the traditional Islamic architecture, it blends the styles of the Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical eras.

2. Süleymaniye Mosque

Whereas in Europe you would usually have one major temple – here in Istanbul you get plenty of them. This one was designed in the 16th century by famous Ottoman architect Sinan for Suleiman the Magnificent.
