Top 10 Wonders of the Natural World

There are seven official wonders designated by CNN. However, we have added three more – the Milford Sound, Lake Hillier and Lençóis Maranhenses National Park. Check out this list of ten great natural wonders, that are unique and unbelievably pretty!

10. Parícutin, Mexico

Deadly yet exciting, the volcano erupted from out of nowhere in the corn field in 1943. It covered a vast area under lava and ashes, destroying the villages of Parícutin and San Juan Parangaricutiro. Before that, there was no volcano at all, therefore its birth was observed for the first time in human history. It is not active. For now.

Why go there?

Explore this unfriendly terrain and observe the volcano from a helicopter. All that is left from the villages is San Juan Parangaricutiro’s church, standing lonely and abandoned.
