10. Wellfleet Oyster Fest, Wellfleet, USA
The fishing town is famous for its oysters, clams and shellfishing. So during the festival the locals and guests celebrate these gifts of nature and gather to relish the local cuisine. The visitors are also entertained by arts and crafts, educational programs, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, walking tours, live music, a road race, and the annual Oyster Shuck-Off competition.

9. Oktoberfest, Munich, Germany
Held since 1810 the festival has become an important part of Bavarian culture. Originally the commemoration of Prince Ludwig’s wedding turned into the biggest beer celebration in the world. Today people from all around the world gather to drink German bear – something the Germans are extremely proud of – and get totally wasted.
When to go there?
This year the festival will take place from September 19 to October 4.
8. Festes de la Mercé, Barcelona, Spain
The people of Barcelona gather to commemorate Virgin de la Mercé – the saint patron of the city. Over 500 activities and shows take over the entire city. One of the most entertaining parades features giants, that are made of wood and are operated by humans!

7. London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, England
The longest running motoring event in the world takes off from vibrant London and heads to Brighton – a popular coastal destination. But the most important and all together entertaining thing about the festival is that the participators drive in vintage cars! Even if you are not a car lover, this is something so amusing and historic.

The cavalcade will move on Sunday, 1st November.

6. International White Truffle Fair, Italy
Truffle is the rarest therefore the most expensive delicacy in the world! The best chefs from around the world gather and prepare dishes with this edible wonder. Besides an auction takes place, where the prices can reach $1,200 a pound! The menu however features other dishes from the local cuisine as well, including roast pork, salami, polenta and many others.

5. Café Budapest Contemporary Arts Festival, Hungary
Formerly known as Budapest Autumn Festival, it has nothing to do with coffee! This is a contemporary art feast, where guests can explore the world of music, drama, dance, art exhibitions, poetry, literature, design and contemporary circus. The venues all around beautiful Budapest welcome curious and cultured.

4. Adirondacks, New York, USA
The forested mountains get covered with a wonderful colorful foliage that are beautiful to look at, also it is the harvest time here. Harvest festivals take place in the farms, that are open for visits and tasting local food. 170-mile Olympic Trail connects Lake Ontario to Lake Champlain and is a great road to take a trip: the scenery is unforgettable.

3. The Great Jack’O Lantern Blaze, Sleepy Hollow, New York, USA
Carved pumpkins are the symbol of Halloween. But creative people have pushed this amusing tradition way further and created amazing sculptures made entirely of pumpkins. This year the exhibition features 4000 carved and illuminated pumpkins. Scary snakes, a giant spider web, an undersea aquarium, super-sized dinosaurs, pirates, ghosts and other spooky characters provide a unique site!

2. Le Salon du Chocolat, Paris, France
The capital of fashion introduces Chocolate haute couture! The festival presents itself as “the world’s largest event dedicated to chocolate and cocoa”. Over 220 chocolatiers, pastry makers and confectioners offer to try the finest delicacies. Moreover, various shows and workshops take place, but the most exciting must be the fashion show, where clothes are made of chocolate!

1. Yi Peng Lantern Festival, Thailand
The Buddhist celebration is meant to cleanse the spirit from bad luck by sending lanterns to Buddha. People send lanterns to the sky and decorate their houses with flowers and candles, which creates the lifting atmosphere. The participators also get to see the parade, where dancers in traditional costumes send some love to the deity. The festival is the most exciting in Chiang Mai – the city in northern Thailand.

The festival takes place across the nation during the full moon in the second half of November.
