Ghadames, Libya. The Berber oasis town fascinates with a traditional architecture and a severe sandy landscape. The first records about the settlement come from the 1st century BC. The site is added in UNESCO World Heritage list.
The place is also referred as “The Jewel of the Sahara“. The minimalist exterior of the buildings, painted white to reflect the hot sun, hide beautiful, traditionally decorated colorful interiors. The network of houses serves as a protection from the wind and sand.
