Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia. The beautiful beach is only 7 kilometers away from the center of the beautiful Sydney. Once purchased by the businessmen, in 19th century the beach was returned to the public. Today it is one of the most popular recreational areas around.
One kilometer long shore attracts not only swimmers and sunbathers, but also surfers, beach volleyball players and others, interested in active sports. In August about 63,000 enthusiasts participate in a 14 km race, which starts in Sydney and ends in Bondi Beach. Tourists from other part of the world escape cold winter by coming here to celebrate Christmas and the New Year.
Many events and festivals also entertain the visitors, the annual Miss Bondi beauty pageant and the Vans Bowl-A-Rama skateboarding competition being the most popular. Bondi Icebergs are the popular pools by the sea. Cafés, bars and hotels with the view to the Tasman Sea offer their service.
So much fun in one beach, which is in the neighborhood of one of the most exciting cities in the world! No wonder that Bondi was included in the Australian National Heritage List.
