Riomaggiore, La Spezia, Italy. One of the five villages of the Cinque Terre – a coast of Italian Riviera. If traveling north from La Spezia, Riomaggiore is the first village from the chain. Some vote it to be the most interesting of all five.
Established in 13th century, the village has a dramatic coastline with the colorful houses. It is known for the wine produced from the local vineyards and fresh sea food in the cozy restaurants. The road from here leads to Manarola next – the second village of the Cinque Terre.

Cinque Terre is a famous destination to visit – each day another exciting city. Riomaggiore is definitely one of the most beautiful historic villages on the Mediterranean coast. It is worth seeing Cinque Terre National Park, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When to go there?
Summers are hot, winters are warm, but it can be rainy in spring and autumn.
