Reflection Canyon, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, USA. Found on the side of Lake Powell, on the border between Utah and Arizona, Reflection Canyon is an astonishing natural wonder. Popularized by the photographers, whose pictures inspired visitors to look for this place, the canyon previously didn’t dominate the travel guides.
That isn’t surprising at all, since the spot is hard to reach. It is accessed either by boat or by a strenuous 88 km (55 mi) road. The whole area can also be explored from the air on a plane tour. However, the sites are astounding, especially the shoreline of Lake Powell. But after a journey, the travelers are rewarded with an amazing S-shaped canyon.
Why to go there?
A wonderful site, a challenging and adventurous trip.
When to go there?
The S shape is best pronounced when the water levels are low. The levels fluctuate every year, but usually they are the highest from May to July.
How to get there?
The bigger part of the Hole-in-the-Rock Road can be overcome by car. It is much easier to access the area by boat, but the hike is unforgettable and much more rewarding.
