Jamnik, Kranj, Slovenia. Situated on the Jelovica Plateau, the small village is a truly picturesque place in the country. The location is indeed stunning: the plateau features lush forests, part of the Ljubljana Basin, surrounded with Julian Alps from north and the Kamnik Alps from the east.
The church of Saints Primus and Felician is the most famous attraction here. Built on the top of a hill, overlooking those wonderful panoramic views, the sanctuary must move the soul. Visitors can approach the area from a viewpoint and make some unforgettable pictures.
Why to go there?
Admire breathtaking views. The village is small and apart from the panoramic sites there is not much to do. Visitors come here on their way to Kranj or skiing resorts in Krvavec and Vogel.
When to go there?
All year round. The region has four distinct seasons: blooming spring, lush greenery in summer, colorful foliage in autumn and thick layer of snow in winter.
How to get there?
Get around in Slovenia by bus. However the best way to travel to Jamnik and neighboring areas is by car.
