It is said that the journey itself is more important than the destination. Maybe only those who had never had to endure a long airport layover would agree. For most travellers, a layover is the worst part of the trip and even 10 or 20 hours of waiting feels like an entire eternity when you are stuck in an airport.
But a 20-hours stopover is nothing compared to the connection one guy was offered recently. James Lloyd was looking for a flight from New Zealand to the UK on Skyscanner, a global search engine for airplane flights, and the result he got was shocking. Mister Lloyd was offered with a 47-year (!) stopover in Bangkok.
Amazed to find a 413,786-hour wait for his connecting flight, James wrote a message on the company’s Facebook page. “Hi Skyscanner. Just wondering what you’d recommend I do during the 47 year layover your website has suggested?” Check out below what the company answered. Their response was all kinds of awesome.
